An authentic ‘Fabulous 50s’ hotel celebrates its anniversary (1956-2016)
We celebrate our 60. anniversary with plenty of interesting events and special offers. The main event was a big success and has been held on May the 21st and 22nd, with two live rock concerts, an oldtimer cars and motorbikes meeting and a lot of surprises for our guests! The celebrations went on on June the 17th with the great live concert of the Ruki v'Bryuki and on August the 20. we will organize the Splish Splash, a rockin pool party with concerts, rich aperitiv, dinner, sun & fun in the garden with swimming pool and pool bar!
When you arrive at the yellow, undulating building that is the Hotel Vezia in Vezia, Lugano, you could well imagine you’ve been transported back in time to a film staring Marilyn Monroe or James Dean. There’s a juke box and a Vespa in the lobby and the hotel staff wear authentic 1950's-style clothing. Each of the 50 rooms is designed differently to reflect a theme or a film star of the decade. The best thing is that the rooms are connected to private garages making them ideal for anyone arriving by car or motorcycle. Another attraction is the circular restaurant, where of course everything is in the 50's style, that serves Italian and American specialities in the evening and provides a rich breakfast buffet in the mornings. The range of offers is completed with the sub-topical garden with swimming pool, pool bar and a children’s play area. Everything is completely authentic as the three-star Hotel Vezia was built in 1956 by architect Orfeo Amadò (1908-1979), in the typical architectural style of a 1950s motel. Over the years, the hotel has been continuously renovated in the same style ensuring that the ‘Fabulous 50's’ vibe remains alive.

Our summer event “Splish Splash 2016 - The Rockin' Pool Party” is another great 50's party with live music, drinks, sun & fun in the pool area, which is going to be held on August, the 20th.

The Fabulous 50s Experience Package
For anyone who really wants to get into the 1950s mood, there’s a special anniversary deal – the ‘Fabulous 50s Experience Package’. The package includes an Audrey Hepburn welcome cocktail followed by dinner in the ‘Star Diner’ as well as accommodation in a double room with a private garage and breakfast in the morning. Prices start from 235 CHF (approx. €210) and also include a trip in a pink Ford Thunderbird convertible and a photo shoot in typical, 1950's-style clothing.
